Depression increases the risk of dementia

Do not underestimate depression – it can cause irreparable harm to our brain.

During the 17-year study, American neurologists found that in adult men and women prone to frequent depression, 50% higher the risk of senile dementia*. Prolcable depression triggers the process of death of nerve cells and can lead to the development of Alzheimer and Parkinson’s diseases. Depression, suggested by researchers, can cause an autoimmune reaction, and this, in turn, detrimentally affects neurons. If so, then new data will help not only improve the treatment of depression, but also better predict and prevent the development of dementia
